13.1. Use UDP Multicast

The SRT Mini Server can convert incoming SRT stream to UDP Multicast.
This function works on the principle of repackaging, i.e. it does not affect the stream itself and gives it "AS IS".
Accordingly, if your input stream is 10Mbs, the received UDP Multicast stream will also be 10Mbs.
 
To enable this conversion just fill in the "Multicast to" field - specify an arbitrary multicast address.

During the broadcast this address will be displayed on the Line along with other parameters as shown below.
 
 
 
 
To view the UDP stream you can use for example VLC player. Use the "@" symbol to enter the address as in the picture below.
You can also reduce the caching time through the "Show more options ---> Caching" parameter

Performance recommendations:
if you need only UDP Multicast, it makes sense to disable decoding of incoming streams. This will significantly reduce the load on the server. More detailed read here.
 
 
 
Troubleshooting
- Make sure that UDP multicast traffic is not blocked by a router or firewall
